GM1: 2006-08-23 20:26:56

wtf guys, honestly.

GM1: 2006-08-25 22:19:35

XP Table, Backstory, and Archives are updated. Beginning work on updating the archive system.

GM1: 2006-08-26 01:20:25

Archive system is fully operational.

No one better double-post EVER AGAIN.

GM1: 2006-08-28 13:01:13

Keanne asked for edit/delete buttons on the news page.

They're done.

GM0: 2008-01-22 00:25:54

OMFG FINALLY

sometimes programming is ridiculously frustrating until you figure out. Then it's all good.

anyway, working on GM controls for the scrap system.

GM0: 2008-01-23 11:55:19

GM Controls for Scrap done, barring a few usability improvements. Waiting on Steve to add recipes so I can test User controls.

Now I have the skill system or item/mecha balance tweaks to do.

GM2: 2008-01-23 13:15:45

Testing the update system.

GM1: 2008-03-03 18:18:03

You can see the new layout I'm working on here:
Layout Temp

When I get the images in place, I'll be swapping over to that one.

GM1: 2008-03-24 09:51:11

New Layout is done. Hope you like it.

On to mecha rebalancing.

GM1: 2008-03-26 08:12:42

So, after heading off to do mecha rebalancing, I discovered the GM controls for mecha weren't finished.

They just need testing now.

GM1: 2008-03-30 07:03:00

Rebuilding the suit editor to use script.aculo.us DragNDrop functionality. Unfortunately, as soon as I get the new layout for the editor done, the documentation site for script.aculo.us goes down. Been unable to do anything on it since Friday.

GM1: 2008-05-28 11:54:34

Major progress on the suit editor done in the past few days. It's nearly done :)

I'll have a trial for it soon, so you all can see what it is I've been doing the past several months.

GM1: 2008-05-29 06:08:28

And now it works in IE!
IE 7 at least. IE6 can go f itself for all I care.

GM1: 2008-06-04 11:52:02

Viewing a completed mecha is now fully operational. I'll leave one in there so people can see what it looks like.

Yes, that is Nightmare, ready to kick some ass again.

GM1: 2008-06-10 10:33:42

Didn't have the information I needed at work to continue with skills, so I whipped another layout with less images. Check it out and let me know what you think. If I hear enough good word about the new one, I'll switch over to it.

GM1: 2008-07-16 09:39:47

Skills system is mostly done, just have to figure out how I want to save them and then input all the skills into the database. Also have a new layout I'll be implementing when it stops being stupid.

GM1: 2008-07-31 07:54:21

Prototype for the new combat system. This is my experimentation with some javascript things so I know if I can do what I have in mind for the grid. Now that I know it works (kinda), I can safely say the grid will be an infinite size. Now that I think about it, I may include fog of war and sight distance. Just because :p Before anyone complains: There will be a mini-map with a view of the entire battlefield at once, there will be a list of all mecha, or at least ones that are of importance, and the sizes of things are NOT FINAL.

GM1: 2008-08-13 05:34:01

Banners! If you check out the testbed page, you'll see a big block of white on the left. That's the reserved space for some kind of banner. If you'd like to submit a banner for possible use on the every page of the site, shoot it off to banner@guneva.net. Dimensions are 150x600. Everything else is up to you, although I prefer something that fits with the theme of the site.

GM1: 2008-12-22 07:40:56

I've been silent for a while, because I've been busy. Unfortunately, not with this. At least, not directly. One of my classes we were to come up with a game design, and then implement it as a prototype with Flash. Guess what I came up with. First one doesn't count. Anyway, here's the result: a very simplified version of this game!

GM1: 2009-03-08 19:56:24

currently entering skills into the database. after that, battle system!

GM1: 2009-12-26 12:28:33

omg an update. Players can now group weapons onto a mech together, for easier firing of multiple weapons at once.

GM1: 2010-03-01 14:15:02

So, we were hacked sometime in January and everything blown away. More of a minor annoyance really, since I have the whole site on my local HD. I took the opportunity to upgrade the forums to phpbb v3. This also meant I had to redo the integration for it though. A good thing in the end, since the additions I made are now done in a much cleaner fashion, with no modifications to the phpbb engine at all.

GM1: 2010-03-30 19:55:02

makin' progress on the tracker! Currently working on getting the game field drawn.

GM1: 2010-04-02 19:45:22

Game field is drawn, and players are now sorted into teams. Now comes the hard part as I manage GM and player ends at the same time with players joining the game.

GM1: 2010-09-20 15:21:11

I took a look at some of the older sections of site and realized they were amazingly out of date. So I updated them. As a result, you can now do this. Or this.

GM1: 2010-10-08 14:44:29

They took our idea!

GM1: 2010-11-28 10:04:06

My computer broke down. With nothing to distract me, I'm getting a ton of work done on the site. First off, some itemization changes. Items will now be able to use different types of criticals. Also, they can add additional criticals to your suit. Got some spare PC? Stick some missiles in there! Second, every item will be purchasable. When you craft a recipe, the resulting item will show up in the shop for purchase. It won't be cheap though. Third, you get one shield. Why did I nerf the shield count? So I can buff them. Shields now reduce any damage they take by a percentage. This percentage ranges from 15 to 60%. *P* weapons deal full damage, rather than double damage. All of these will require a rebuild of the mecha construction system. Which is fine, it's something I need to do anyway. Very unhappy with it currently, even though it works. On the tracker front, I've found a solution for an issue I was having which has stalled me for a month or so. Once the mecha system has been rebuilt, it'll be back to that.

GM1: 2011-03-08 15:53:38

The rebuild of the Mecha system is done enough for a demo. Check it out and send me your thoughts. Now that that's done, I can go back to the tracker.
